We always knew marriage is like death

Lucky Lindy!
American aviatrix and author (and the wife of Charles Lindbergh) Anne Morrow Lindbergh died on this day in 2001. She wrote:

When the wedding march sounds the resolute approach, the clock no longer ticks, it tolls the hour. The figures in the aisle are no longer individuals, they symbolize the human race.”

Today’s Deathless Verse:

Old men, looking back,
  May crack:
“I’d rather be wed
  Than dead.
But given the choice
  Of joys,
The prospect of life
  Sans wife
Surpasses one rife
  With strife—
A series of wrecks,
  With sex.”
