Madam, I'm Adam, and this is Death

Adolf Hitler died on this day in 1945. In his suicide note, he wrote:

"My wife and choose to die to escape the shame of overthrow or capitulation."

On the other end of the spectrum, Mark Twain died on April 21, 1910.

"Whoever has lived long enough to find out what life is," Twain wrote, "knows how deep a debt of gratitude we owe to Adam, the first great benefactor of our race. He brought death into our world."

More about Twain tomorrow.
